December 2006, number 157 was the first Fishtail West issue that I edited for the Velocette Owners Club of North America. The April/May 2023 issue was the last. I created and mailed out six (sometimes 7) issues each year. Yes, the quality of the content varied, but through all the nonsense my goal was to keep club members connected across a vast space. I think… hope I was successful in that. By the way, my goal was never self-promotion (maybe that should be here) and I never received any monetary compensation for my efforts.

It was a sad day when I received an email stating: “At the AGM, JP Defaut was elected the new Editor of FTW. Blaise Descollanges was elected Treasurer, and Kim Young is President with Idaho as our 2024 rally location. I tried to slip out of the Chairman role but nobody else wanted the job. Sarah Kolterman remains as Secretary,” but it was also a relief.

Both this year and last, the members present at the AGM voted for change. I was not in synch with some of the changes the current officers have made or want to make. Still, I wish them well and hope something positive will come out of these changes. One change that I would like to see, is for all members to have a say in decisions, not just those who are present at the AGM. With all this technology, it should be possible.

Knightly the cat misses me focusing at the computer. Him sleeping nearby kept me in my chair through many frustrations.
